Parkinson’s Move to Improve

STARTING IN JANUARY 2025. PLEASE ASK THE FRONT DESK FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Our mission is to enhance the lives of individuals with Parkinson's disease in the Annapolis and surrounding areas by providing specialized exercise programs that promote mobility, function, and overall well-being.

Through community engagement, education, and research, we aim to empower individuals with Parkinson's to live their lives to the fullest.

What is Parkinson’s Move to Improve?

Our dedicated exercise program for individuals with Parkinson's disease is designed to enhance mobility, balance, and strength. Utilizing evidence-based techniques, we emphasize movements that enrich quality of life and help slow the progression of symptoms.

Exercise plays a critical role in managing Parkinson's disease by improving mobility, balance, and overall quality of life. Regular physical activity helps strengthen muscles, enhance flexibility, and promote better coordination, which can alleviate some of the motor symptoms associated with Parkinson's. Research has shown that exercise may even slow the progression of the disease by boosting brain health and supporting neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to adapt and form new connections. Additionally, exercise can improve mood, reduce depression and anxiety, and increase energy levels, making it an essential component of Parkinson's management.
